STUFF YER FACE: INDIANAPOLIS FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

image

Last Friday, Mrs Carnicero and I went to the Indianapolis First Friday Food Truck Festival.  We’ve been a few times before, but we wanted to hit it again before summer was over.

Here is a list of the trucks we hit:

HOOSIER FAT DADDY BUS CAFE

One of my favorites, we always grab their Tater Tot Casserole.  A pile of tater tots loaded with cheese, bacon, sour cream and chives. $4

DA BLUE LAGOON

I was introduced to this truck at the last food truck festival, their Jamaican beef patties are awesome.  Mrs Carnicero had never had a beef patty before, and I think it wont be her last. $4

MAC GENIE

Gourmet mac and cheese.  I went with the signature Genie Mac.  Mac and Cheese loaded with bacon, breadcrumbs, and sour cream.  They had a Taco Mac that might need to be tried next next time. $7

SWEET JEANIUS BAKERY

Mrs. Carnicero saw their cupcake sundae, so we had to grab one.  Chocolate cupcake, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry!  $4

NICEY TREAT

Nicey Treat has been hot in the streets of Indy this summer.  Gourmet popsicles from fresh fruits to creamy chocolate or cheesecake.  They even make some crazy flavors like Roasted Sweet Corn or Avocado.  I had to see what the fuss was about, so I tried the fresh watermelon.  It was AMAZING!  Nicey lived up to the hype for sure! $3

We had a great time and a nice dinner outside for $22. We were able to support 5 different local and independent businesses in one dinner, which I thought was cool as well…
