all things must come to an end... and this month's 'the straight dope' will be the last ever! we've had a very long run upstairs at the khyber... years upon years actually... but it's now time to kiss this sweet party goodbye. you know how it is. so to celebrate we're goin out with a bang. to start off, our main man bd1982 is back from japan for the holidays. next, we've got the annual meddafore birthday party, yes i know all birthdays are annual, but this is becoming somewhat of a tradition at 'the straight dope'. lastly we've got seclusiasis' main man dev79 in the building. it all goes down friday december 26th... one day after santa breaks into your home.

there's another kotchy 12" and digital release on the streets from seclusiasis and civil music! it's another track from his forthcoming album, entitled "sing what you want". also on the record is another one of our favorite tracks of his, "one for the money". the release also features remixes from seclusiasis' own starkey, plus mrk1 and a crazy skweee influenced remix from rusko. make sure you grab this record before they're all gone.

in other seclusiasis music release news... we've got a digital album dropping on october 27th from philadelphia's own, small professor. if you're unfamiliar with small pro's sound, think really good hiphop with loads of samples and the occasional odd time signature. we'll be celebrating the release with a record release party at october's "the straight dope". joining small professor for the party will be shaelroc, dj aura & seclusiasis' own darrel asbury. that's friday, october 24th @ the khyber upstairs. always free... always dope.

it's time once again for the philly laptop battle! this year's edition goes down once again at the north star bar, friday october 3rd. 10 competitors clash it out to see who will represent philly in this year's laptop battle championship. dev79 & starkey will be on the mic giving you the blow by blow, darrel asbury & ghost will keep the music rocking in between rounds and our fantastic panel of judges will decide the fates of the competitors. crowd reaction is one of the judging criteria... so make some noise for your favorite producer/artist. see u there.

recent seclusiasis signee, kotchy (from brooklyn ny), released his first official track... a remix for tricky's lead single from his new album knowle west boy, "council estate". it's available on 7" and digitally from domino records. look for some joint releases from kotchy on seclusiasis and our uk partner, civil music, in the coming months.

just to make sure ur paying attention.... here's a news recap of what's going on in the seclusiasis camp:
- we've had our last night of 'seclusiasis thursdays' at sal's. summer is approaching and we wanted to go out with a bang. much thanks to everyone who came out and partied with us on thursday nights.
- starkey just returned from a short european tour, check the pics on his myspace page.
- dev79 & starkey are playing 'rowdy' in brooklyn this friday night, june 13th. check their website for details.
- sorry for missing a month of seclusiasis radio this month. starkey got home from london late... and couldn't make the show. so expect an extra jam packed show next month on sub fm, monday july 7th 7-9pm est, 12-2am gmt.
