we've thought long and hard about this... we're announcing officially the retiring of 'get IN'. the night started as 'IN' at latazza, moved to silk city and became 'get IN', then after silk closed we took the party to tritone. after this month's event last week, we've decided to halt all events at tritone and retire the event. 'get IN' was the 1st regular party in the U.S. to focus on the grime and dubstep sounds. we had a run of over 2 years.... so thanks to everyone who came out to party with us. but don't worry, we're brewing up another party to take its place.

Congrats to Vytear who won the 2006 National Laptop Battle Championship in Seattle on December 7th. Vytear was the Philly Laptop Battle winner of '06 and represented our city at the event this year.

'get in' returns to tritone on a new night...saturday. that's right, mark ur calendars, saturday december 9th. to kick off our new night, we're hooking up with one of philly's most up-and-coming labels, flamin' hotz, and bringin you the record release party for trouble & bass' bass bandits ep. drop the lime and mathhead will be coming down from nyc to wreck the dancefloor with cuts from their record. dev79 & stumble will be holding it down for the home team. be there.

mark it on ur calendar now. wednesday, september 13th is the two year anniversary of seclusiasis bringin' the grime sound to the philadelphia music scene. still the only ones doin' it.... 3 venues in, 2 years strong. we'll be throwin' it down at TriTone (1508 South Street) as usual. this month will also be the release party for the newest Seclusiasis mix cd, "ice cream", dropping from generic man. generic, along with mc l.e.f. brim, will be joining ur residents, starkey & dev79 on the decks for this special event, showcasing tracks from the release as well as dirrty jerrz bangers. why stop there. juakali (dubwar) will be coming down from nyc to bless the mic, along with philly's own mc's elixir (hollertronix, skratch makaniks) and micsouljah. we're also going to have some video "imagry" courtesy of misterredd. don't sleep on this one.

this month we are takin it to a new level. 'the straight dope' is proud to have it's first international guests in the form of ottawa canada's jokers of the scene (dj's booth & chameleonic) in their first taste of philly party action. besides straight killin it in the ottawa and montreal scenes, the jokers of the scene have recently been bumpin up their production output including remixes for diplo's mad decent label. ur 4th friday fix fer sweaty dancefloor action just got rawer. so come get it with ur resident party throwers, dev79 & stumble.

last week was a crazy one for seclusiasis, 3 events in 2 days. 1st, big ups to ilapheqs & cramske for holdin it down at 'you know it' last thursday. across town at tritone, the 5th philadelphia laptop battle was goin' down the same night. vytear came out on top, and he'll be challenging the winner of october's battle for a place in the 2006 north american laptop battle championship in seattle. friday was a special installment of 'the straight dope', it was stumble's release party for his new seclusiasis mix cd, 'nine: sixteen (a daydream)'. he'll also be having a release party in brooklyn this saturday, august 5th at the east river bar.

woah, this month's 'get IN' promises to be like none other. we're gonna be bringin in worship records' rob paine to hold it down on the decks with bad boy mc, el feco b. that's enough to get anyone excited, but to sweeten the deal...the large solomonic sound system is gonna be on hand. starkey and dev79, of course, will be on hand as your residents to make sure it stays grimey. get off the hot summer philly streets and indulge in some bass weight for an evening. It contains two selections of the recordings from the evening for your aural enjoyment. The bonus beats section contains a live performance of a track from stumble's forthcoming mixcd "nine : sixteen (a daydream)." so cop that shit - available in two formats, either a zip folder with all the tracks separated or the whole thing in on handy mp3, and here's thetracklist.
