The Ropen is said to be a living pterosaur which inhabits Papua New Guinea and has a wingspan of up to 29 feet. The Ropen is nocturnal and at times exhibits a form of bioluminescence which makes it appear as though it is glowing as it flies. The locals who’ve seen and are familiar with the habits of the Ropen say that it feeds mostly on fish although there have been reports of it consuming human flesh when digging up fresh graves. Indigenous eyewitness sightings have apparently occurred over thousands of years and Western visitors have also come across the Ropen dating back to 1944.
